Ethiopians will hold a one day online campaign on Wednesday to bring to light the quandary of prisoners of conscience under an oppressive regime.

Organizers say the campaign is aimed at drawing the attention of the international community to the plight of prisoners of conscience in Ethiopian prisons. It is also to let prisoners know that they were not forgotten and that they were not alone.

Political prisoners and prisoners of conscience undergoe unimaginable torture and abuse at the hands of their captors, the organizers said, adding that demanding their freedom was long overdue.

The TPLF regime in Ethiopia has continued to torture political prisoners and prisoners of conscience, according to accounts of freed prisoners and information leaking through the cracks of jails.

Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia are encourage to share a photo and/or a story of a prisoner on their social media posts in the one day campaign.
