Ethiopia: Lt. General Jagama Kelo passes away

Ethiopian war hero, Lieutenant General Jagama Kelo, passed away at the age of 96.

Lt. General Jagama Kelo was only 15 when he went to fight the invading Italian forces in the 1930s. He was instrumental in capturing and killing hundreds of the invading forces and seizing thousands of weaponries.

In the five year occupation of the Italians, Kelo organized his armies and fought hard to chase the occupiers out of Ethiopia.

He was a recipient of several awards, including from Emperor Haile Sellassie, in recognition to his bravery and patriotism.

Lt. General Jagama Kelo is survived by five children, five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
