Security forces over the weekend arrested two Egyptians living in Ethiopia’s capital Addis Ababa, a local newspaper reported.

One of the Egyptians arrested in the raid is Taha Mansour, who moved to Addis Ababa four years ago to work as an assistant CEO of the Radisson Hotel in the capital, according to a report by Capital newspaper. Security forces arrested Mansour at his work. He moved to Addis from the Radisson in Egypt. No information is available on the second Egyptian arrested.

The regime did not give any statement on the arrest of the foreigners but it has been accusing Egypt of fomenting the yearlong uprising by the people against its rule. Egypt denied any involvement in the affairs of Ethiopia.

Thousands of people have been arrested following the state of emergency declared in October. The law gives security forces to arrest anyone without court warrant.

Egyptian foreign minister, Sameh Hassan Shoukry, who is in the Ethiopian capital to attend a regional summit on Libya, is expected to discuss the issue with Ethiopian officials.
