Welcoming participants, Professor Getachew Begashaw of Harper College, who is also the President of Vision Ethiopia, the organizer of the conference, spoke of the significance of the theme of the conference considering the current state of affairs in Ethiopia.

Also welcoming conference participants, Abebe Gellaw, Executive Director of ESAT, the co-organizer of the conference said the conference came at a time when “change is knocking at the door in Ethiopia.”  He said the topic of the conference was of paramount importance as Ethiopians need to work “to clean up the mess that the demise of the TPLF regime would leave behind.”
