Police kill a prisoner in Kilinto

Police attacked prisoners at the notorious Kilinto prison and one person was reportedly killed in the attack.

Kilinto is one of the many prisons where the regime put political opponents behind bars. The reason for the attack is not yet known but sources told ESAT that a prisoner known only by his first name, Tamrat, was killed in the attack.

Food brought by family members to the prisoners was delayed by several hours and the 15 min visit allowed to family was prohibited on the day.

Witnesses said they have seen ambulances going in and out of the prison where several prisoners are feared injured in the attack.
