Grenade explosion injures six children in Adama

Six children have sustained serious injuries following a grenade explosion in Adama Woreda, East Shewa Zone, local media reported on Wednesday.

The six children ranging from 5 to 17 and three other women sustained the injuries when one of the children, unbeknownst to her that it was a grenade, tried to sell it to a local vendor thinking it might be a useful household item.

Four of the children were in a serious condition and all of the victims have been admitted to the Adama Hospital.

Police have taken into custody the parent of one of the children at whose house the F1 grenade was allegedly found.
