Ethiopia issues yet another tender to buy 70,000 tons wheat

ESAT News (November 23, 20-17)

The Ethiopian regime has issued an international tender to buy about 70,000 tons of milling wheat, European traders said.

The tender deadline is Dec. 5, according to UkrAgroConsult, a Ukrainian agricultural consulting company.

The report said the country also made a major purchase of 400,000 tonnes of wheat in early November.

Finance for the 70,000 tons of wheat is being provided by the World Bank’s International Development Association (IDA) and other aid agencies, traders said.

Over 10 million people are in need of food assistance after back to back draught hit the country for the last few years. Bad agricultural and land policies have also contributed to the food crisis.
