Ethiopian Muslims detained in Saudi freed

Saudi Arabia on Thursday released 12 Ethiopians who were detained last week while on the annual hajj and umrah pilgrim in the Kingdom.

The Muslim affairs Radio BBN reported that its sources confirmed the release of the Ethiopian Muslims who were arrested last Thursday.

Those arrested include members of the Ethiopian Muslim Arbitration Committee who were imprisoned by the Ethiopian regime for opposing its interference in the affairs of their religion.

According to information obtained by ESAT last week a bail was set at 68,000 dollars for the release of the 12 Ethiopians.

Ustaz Abubeker Ahmed and Ustaz Yasin Nuru are among the Ethiopians whom Saudi security detained on Thursday night after prayers.

Saudi authorities did  not disclose the reasons for the arrest of the Ethiopians.
