Dozens of people belonging to the Dorze ethnic group in southern Ethiopia have been accused of terrorism by the kangaroo courts of the regime.

ESAT’s sources said the command post in charge of the state of emergency declared by the regime have detained 80 members of opposition political parties falsely accusing them of harboring terrorism stance. Some were also accused of having links to Patriotic Ginbot 7, an armed group fighting the regime.

About 35 people from the Dorze ethnic group were also detained for the last two months. They were accused of terrorism because they were carrying swords that they carry during cultural dance, according to the sources.

Meanwhile detainees representing 10 political parties said in a letter that the authorities are deliberately tampering with files in computers confiscated by security forces. They said authorities are uploading files that they would later use as evidences for their cooked-up terrorism charges.
