Ethiopia: Unknown assailants attack a bus killing five

Unknown assailants attacked a bus carrying 40 passengers outside the town of Gambella, western Ethiopia, killing five passengers.

The attackers have reportedly shot at the fuel tank of the bus that resulted in the deadly fire. State media reported that the attack took place 60 kilometers outside the town of Gambella.

Police said nine passengers sustained injuries ranging from light to serious. The attackers had fled the scene and no party took responsibility for the attack, according to police.

The injured are being treated at the Gambella Hospital.
