The Ethiopian regime has deployed troops in the border town of Balho, inside the Djibouti territory to closely watch the armed resistance groups in the Afar region of Ethiopia.
According to a report filed by the African Intelligence, the troops, headed by a colonel, were at least 150 and will watch over the armed groups in Afar opposing the Ethiopian regime.
The report said the deployment of the troops was aimed at launching an offensive against the armed groups in Afar.
The Afari armed groups in Ethiopia and Djibouti have, in a number of occasions, engaged Ethiopian regime troops in gun battle.
The Afaris have recently held captives several heavy duty trucks carrying freight from the port of Djibouti to Ethiopia.
The deployment of the troops have increased tensions in the already volatile region of Afar.
