Somali media reported that 42 people, most of whom women and children, were killed on Tuesday in Gashaamo, Somali region of Ethiopia.
The victims were all from the Habar Younis Isaak clan. No group took responsibility for the attack but the clan has at various times been in conflict with specials forces of the Ethiopian regime deployed in the area.
The Special Forces (Liyu police) in the region were blamed for earlier killings in the area, Salaan Media reported.
The report also said among those killed was a renowned businessman, Abdi Fuura and two of his sons.
