Addis Ababa University academic community will be meeting with the incoming PM soon

While the fate of the incoming government is still unknown, leaders of the ruling EPRDF have called the academic community for three days intensive consultative meeting beginning from September 14, 2012. The agenda of the meeting is not yet clear however academic members of the Addis Ababa University believe it is geared towards getting an endorsement for the path the government has followed so far and seek a political blessing for the incoming administration post Meles Zenawi.
The invitees include academic and research staff from all over the country. Given past experiences, our source expects the attendants to give a glowing endorsement on EPRDF’s leadership and shade a bright prospect on the future of the country.
This meeting is a forerunner of series of meetings EPRDF will undergo with various section of the society. The acting Prime Minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, is expected to lead the meeting with the academic community.
